TASTING NOTES

On pouring a glass of this unique Pinot noir you would not be criticised for announcing “that’s not a Pinot” when judging by its colour alone. The nose displays lovely fruit characters, with the French oak coming through beautifully. Matured in a one year old French Barrique (225L) barrel, this Pinot has that aroma you just want to keep taking in and enjoying, with the initial taste being exquisite. Dark cherries rule the roost with an oaky softness that helps round the earthy characters that are so predominant in the Home Block Pinot Noir fruits DNA. Primary flavours don’t disappear either, they continue to interest and excite the mouth minutes after taking a sip, particularly on the front and mid palette. A second sip delivers even more, primarily cherry flavours, followed by a rich blood plum character. Again, lingering and continuing to give more and more. This Pinot is drinking perfectly now, but will certainly develop with careful cellaring. (only 285 bottles made)
