Similar to the Single Barrel Home Block Pinot Noir, the Melba Block Pinot is more Shiraz like in colour than Pinot. The nose displays bright cherry fruit characters, with the French oak integrating beautifully. Silky elegance with a fine tannin structure makes this a wine to be enjoyed alone or paired beautifully with foods ranging from pastas, duck all the way through to red meats.

This Pinot is drinking perfectly now, but will certainly develop with careful cellaring. (only 285 bottles made)

100% handpicked on 07 March 2019. Inoculated and fermented on skins over a 2 week period. Pressed using a half-ton hydraulic basket press with the primary ferment being completed in a one year old François Frères barrique. Matured on full ferment lees for 13 months. Bottled 28 Jan 2020. Unfined and unfiltered.
