Vineyard: Steels Gate Vineyard, Chardonnay block. Situated at 230m above sea level, the Chardonnay was planted in the early 1980’s on an undulating, south-west facing slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely unirrigated and hand nurtured. Surrounded by National Park.

Winemaking: 100% handpicked Chardonnay on 09 March 2013. De-stemmed and pressed, with overnight juice settling. Fermented and matured in a mixture of seasoned French oak barriques of varying ages. Method-Traditionelle, disgorged on 27 July 2016 with a dosage of 7g/l.

Tasting notes: Despite the hot, dry conditions of 2013, our cool, sheltered vineyard with its 35+ year old dry-grown vines coped extremely well, giving us an amazing sparkling that displays a crisp dry, creamy textured, fine-bead & lingering finish.
Estate Grown, Non-Irrigated, Single Vineyard.
