The 2023 Estate Blend Pinot Noir is immediately aromatic and accessible, reminiscent of the 2019 vintage but with greater elegance due to the cooler year. It opens with pure, clean scents of fresh red cherry, cranberry sauce, and a subtle, attractive floral note of violet. Light to medium-bodied with a soft, supple texture, the palate is driven by bright, refreshing acidity, making this wine highly appealing and designed for immediate enjoyment. It finishes clean and focused, and is perfect served slightly chilled with charcuterie or lighter fare.
WINEMAKING
A blend designed for early elegance, the fruit was hand-picked on 23 March 2023. Grapes were de-stemmed with 20% whole bunch inclusion. Fermentation utilized an aromatic yeast, with a focus on quick, gentle extraction. Following a short maceration, the wine was pressed and transferred to French oak puncheons, with 20% new oak used for maturation to maintain freshness. The wine was bottled by gravity on 06 February 2024.

Blend of our two estates. 75% Home Block, 25% Melba Block Home Block Vineyard, Pinot Noir block. Situated at 230m above sea level, the Pinot Noir was planted in the early 1980’s on an undulating, east facing slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely unirrigated and hand nurtured. Surrounded by National Park.

Vegan Friendly
Situated at 230m above sea level was planted in the late 1970’s on an undulating slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely non irrigated and hand nurtured, surrounded by National Park. The vines are cared for by hand and the grapes carefully hand picked at the perfect harvest time. This 6+ acres comprises of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
Steels Gate Melba Block Vineyard
Situated at 150m above sea level was planted in the early 1980s. Similar to the Homeblock, the Melba vines are all cared for by hand, 100% cane pruned to ensure best quality fruit is grown and hand harvested.
Nagambie Vineyard
Nagambie Vineyard is a partnership with a family estate located in the picturesque Nagambie region. Still cool climate, this region produces lovely medium bodies reds and some lovely Rieslings and other similar white varieties.
