2017 BLANC DE BLANCS
HOME BLOCK
Our cool, sheltered vineyard with its 40+ year old dry-grown vines coped extremely well, giving us an amazing sparkling that displays a crisp dry, creamy textured, fine-bead & lingering beeswax finish.
VINEYARD
Steels Gate Vineyard, Chardonnay block. Situated at 230m above sea level, the Chardonnay was planted in the early 1980’s on an undulating, south-west facing slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely unirrigated and hand nurtured. Surrounded by National Park.
WINEMAKING
100% handpicked on 28 February 2017. De-stemmed and pressed, with overnight juice settling. Fermented and matured in stainless tank. Method-Traditionelle, disgorged Dec 2020 with a dosage of 5g/l.

2017 CHARDONNAY
HOME BLOCK
Steels Gate Vineyard Chardonnay block is situated at 230m above sea level. The Chardonnay was planted in the early 1980’s on an undulating, south-west facing slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely unirrigated and hand nurtured. Surrounded by National Park.
VINEYARD
Situated at 150m above sea level, planted in the early 1980s. Similar to the Homeblock, the Melba block vines are all cared for by hand, 100% cane pruned to ensure best quality fruit is grown and hand harvested.
WINEMAKING
100% hand picked on in March 2017. Combination of whole bunch and destemming and pressed, with overnight juice settling. Wild yeast fermentation. Matured in a mixture of seasoned french oak barriques and 20% malolactic fermentation. Matured on full ferment lees for 11 months. Bottled 6 February 2018. Unfined and unfiltered.
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
YARRA VALLEY
This wine is all about the subtle tannins. Beautiful bell pepper on the nose, full mid-palate of blackberry and mulberry, smooth tannins and medium body with a hint of mocha to finish.
VINEYARD
Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley region. Situated at 150m above sea level, the Cabernet vines were planted in the early 1990’s. 100% cane pruned to ensure best quality fruit is grown and hand-harvested.
WINEMAKING
100% hand picked Cabernet Sauvignon. Matured on lees in seasoned French oak barriques for 12 months (20% new).
