TASTING NOTES

A mysterious and singular expression, "The Unknown" is anticipated to be a more concentrated and intense wine, offering a powerful aromatic profile of deeper, darker fruits. One should expect a richer texture and more robust structure on the palate, culminating in a uniquely memorable and lingering finish.

WINEMAKING

This intense selection comes from the lowest-yielding rows of the MV6 clone, hand-picked on 23 March 2023. The fruit was de-stemmed with 10% whole bunch inclusion. The wine underwent a 12-day wild yeast fermentation before pressing. Post-press, it was transferred directly to a Hogshead barrel for a long, slow maturation.

Melba Block

Situated at 150m above sea level, planted in the early 1980s. Similar to the Homeblock, the Melba block vines are all cared for by hand, 100% cane pruned to ensure best quality fruit is grown and hand harvested.
