2013 Pinot Noir – sold out
Vineyard: Steels Gate Vineyard, Pinot Noir block. Situated at 230m above sea level, planted in the early 1980’s on an undulating, south-west facing slope on friable grey loam soils. Completely unirrigated.
Winemaking: 100% handpicked. Despite the hot, dry conditions of 2013, our cool, sheltered vineyard with its 30+ year old dry-grown vines coped extremely well, giving us this intensely perfumed, elegant, yet well-structured Pinot Noir.
Tasting: Made with 10% whole bunches and a few other secret, “left-field” techniques, this Pinot displays pure, concentrated aromas of dark cherries, orange peel, violets, and sweet, fresh, undergrowth. The palate is fresh, generous, yet refined, fanning out into a long, peacock tail finish. Estate-grown, non-irrigated, single vineyard.
